New Book Display

Where is the new book display?
The new books are on display in the "New Books" shelf in the entrance area.
New Book lists are available in a folder on the "New Books" shelf. Each list represents the "New Book Display" of a given month in either Mathematics or Computer Science. The lists are organized by shelf no. (subject).
Can I borrow books from the display?
Books on display are not for loan.
Can I order books from the display?
A book can be ordered at the circulation desk, or directly through the catalog (check the screen for instructions).

How to see the New Book Lists?
You can see the New Book Lists through the HUfind catalog

New books in Mathematics:
example: "199706 - Mathematics" (1997=year; 06=June; Mathematics)
New books in Computer Science:
example: "199706 - Computer Science" (1997=year; 06=June; Computer Science)
New electronic books (all HUJI subjects)
example: "200706 - Electronic" (2007=year; 06=June; Electronic)
In the "Advaced search" screen, Choose New items (YYYYMM)
Search the month or year with a * and then filter by library.
For example: for all books purchased in 2017, search 2017* and then filter by library.
How can I subscribe to the New Book lists?
Write us an email (jmclib @ savion.huji.ac.il) or contact us through Facebook, and ask to subscribe to the library's New Book Lists by email. Please let us know if you're interested in the mathematics list, the computer science list, or both.

What book series does the library subscribe to?
The library subscribes to several book series. Details are available in the following lists:
- Current series in Mathematics
- Current series in Computer Science
How to recommend a new book for library acquisition?
Before you recommend a new book please check:
1. Does this book exists in our Library catalog?
  We might allready have this book, or it might be on order. Don't check in the ULI. It doesn't include the orders and new arrivals.
2. Does the book belongs to one of the series we subscribe to?
To recommend, try one of the following ways:
1. Contact Naavah (Acquisitions librarian) at: jmclib at savion.huji.ac.il, tel.65-84820.
2. Contact a member of our "library committee". They authorize the acquisition of library materials.
  - Mathematics: Dr. Ori Gurel-Gurevich
  - School of Computer Science and Engineering: Prof. Yair Bartal (yair at cs.huji.ac.il).
3. Contact one of the staff members in the Mathematics Institute or the School of Computer Science and Engineering. We need a staff member's recommendation for each book and journal we order.

How to check the status of a specific ordered book?
1. Search for the book you ordered...
2. Check the holding status: Click on the title (HUfind)

Electronic books
Can I order the book in electronic format?
Of course! Ask us to check if the book is available to us in electronic format. This is especially recommended for textbooks.
The books are generally ordered through an online digital library, such as ebrary.

How can I find the ebooks?
The ebook will appear in the online catalog.
Use the limit EBook to limit your search results to e-books.
Some examples of available textbooks:
- Lipschuz : Linear algebra (Schaum's outline series)
- Computational geometry / Mark de Berg ... [et al.].
