Lectures on Diffeology

Registration: Please send an email to Enxin Wu (exwu@stu.edu.cn) if you want to attend these lectures. All information will be sent to the registered email address. No fee is needed, but registration is required.

Time: Altogether there will be 17 lectures on the Thursdays listed below, 3:30-5:30pm (Beijing time):, so check your time and be cautious about the time change if you are in another zone (there is no time change in China)

October 2020: 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

November 2020: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th

December 2020: 3rd, 10th, 17th

January 2021: 7th, 21st, 28th

February 2021: 4th, 18th, 25th

Contents

Part I: Basics (5 weeks)

Axioms, set theoretics operations, generating families, locality, D-topology, diffeological vector spaces, diffeological groups, local models, etc.

Part II: Topics (8 weeks)

Orbifolds and manifolds with corners,

Fiber bundles,

Homotopy,

Differential calculus,

De Rham and Cech cohomology

Symplectic diffeology

Part III: Recent developments (4 weeks)

Relationship with noncommutative geometry: orbifold and quasifold cases

Riemannian diffeology

Note: Due to the possible connection problem for a long time lecture, we suggest that for each lecture, we do 55min lecture + 5min rest for disconnection, and then reconnect for the second half of the lecture.
