Mathematics Bldg., lecture hall 2

Dr. Moshe Baruch (Ohio State University)

"Characters and Bessel functions in Representation Theory and Number Theory"

Abstract: We recall some results of Harish-Chandra on the character function and describe certain analogs for Bessel functions. In a joint work with Z. Mao we study a special value of certain L-functions via Bessel functions and "Bessel identities".

Refreshements will be served at 3:45 pm in room 12 of the mathematics building.

The audience is invited to an "after colloquium coffee chat" with the speaker in Beit-Belgia.
